___________ About kennel Nymånen _________________________

Kennel Nymånen is situated approx. 20 km. from Arvidsjaur in the village of Auktsjaur. We have a large kennel facility approved by the environmental office. After many years of commuting between Luleå and Auktsjaur, we decided to build a kennel in the snow safe interior as to be sure of optimum training conditions in early fall and winter. We still have our house and kennel outside Luleå as well.

Siberian husky is the breed we prefer as sleddog and our breeding program is focused on typical and hard working dogs who are easy to handle and quiet.
We usually have between 2 to 4 litters per year, but we sell few puppies. Some harnessbroken adults are for sale in spring.

Our dogs are being trained for longdistance racing and the dogs we use for our dogsledtours are the same dogs we drive in the Polardistans 300 km, Fjälldraget and other races. We still have some Alaskan Huskies in our kennel but we gradually change to having only purebred Siberian Huskies.

The foundation of our Siberian Huskies is based upon the former kennel Guldmyren with Swedish and Finnish bloodlines and local to this area. By importing a female from Jedeye kennel and breeding in Vargevass and Anadyr lines, we have gotten our present dogs.

German Shorthaired Pointers have always been part of our kennel, but we do not have a significant breeding program. The few GSP's we have, are being used as hunting dogs.
