__________ Dog sledding tours ____________

Winter is our peakseason when dogsleddingtours can be booked all days from early December til the end of April as long as the snow and ice allow for. We drive teams of up to 10-12 dogs per sled and on each sled up to four persons can take place while sitting on reindeerskins. The dogteams are driven by experienced guides. The dogs are well trained and cared for and very obedient since they are our racing dogs.

Art studio Nymånen, where one finds glas art and paintings for sale, can be visited in connection to a dogsledtour.

_________ Summer Husky Hikes ___________

The forests around Auktsjaur harbour rich and interesting wildlife and flora. Here you find moose, reindeer, beaver and the four ptarmigan species – grey, capercaillie, grouse and jarp – as well as many other bird species. Even the major predators like bear and lynx live in these woods. In the big swamps grow cloudberries and in the forests one can pick lingon- and blueberry. In the lakes, fish is plentiful. Since the air is so clean here, there is much moss to be found in the trees and on the ground.

Follow with on a guided hike in our beautiful Lappland nature. We offer a short hike of 2 hours, and a long hike of approx. 4 hours. Choose accordingly your condition and the weather of the day. During the walk we take a break for coffee. Hikers carry their own backpack with a lunch provided by us and we boil coffee on an open fire.

As companions on our hikes we bring some happy dogs. Our sled dogs enjoy long walks on the leash during summer and fall. If you like, you can have a dog 'of your own' for the occassion. On the short walks even the puppies can join in.

This makes a wonderful summer activity.

_________ Hunting Dog courses ___________

In spring and summer we offer courses for hunting dogs. We usually have a basic obedience course and a specialized course for scent dogs.

We both have longterm experience with dogs and their training. Sled dogs, especially Siberian Husky, and hunting dogs have our interest.
We are both obedience instructors for game dogs. I (Birgitta) am an instructor in SBHK (brukshundklubben) since 1983 and have been competing in obedience and guarding with Alsatians.

Courses will be announced in spring.
